Summary:
The Course Coordinator- Fire Academy maintains the quality and consistency of Fire Academy curriculum and instruction by monitoring and ensuring that courses meet Kilgore College (SACS and THECB) and TCFP requirements.
The Course Coordinator- Fire Academy assists the Fire Academy Director in strategic planning by collecting, analyzing, and archiving data from multiple current courses for evaluating, planning, and development of future programs.

Responsibilities:
Supports the day-to-day operations of the fire academyRegistrar of Online Hybrid CoursesAssists in promoting and marketing various fire academy programs through social media and recruiting eventsCompiles and maintains student files and correspondence for current and prospective applicantsOversees student admission, enrollment, payment, coursework, skills assessment, and completion and graduationEnsures KC records are updated with grades and completion and graduation status and TCFP TPA and Skills rosters are created, filled, and closed outPrepares billing memos to invoice departments, cities, schools, etc.
Schedules and approves instructors for all online hybrid and specialty classes in Fire Manager (scheduling system) and FIDO (TCFP)Supervisor of Curriculum and InstructionOversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training and development goals, gaps, and requirementsParticipates in the selection of software and other tools used for trainingEstablishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine return on investment, and recommends changes to programs based on that analysisAssists in selection and managing of vendors that provide training materials and curriculumCollects, analyzes, and archives aggregate course data to facilitate departmental planning and evaluation of the courses.
Data may include coursework completion rates, final grades, skills assessments, student evaluations of courses and instructors, state exam pass rates, and employment ratesEnsures that departmental milestones and goals are met and that the department adheres to approved budgetsAssists Director in Time Card entries and corrections as neededCoordinates with TCFP or the KC Testing Center to schedule state exams and TCFP proctor for the online fire academy courses Works with Kilgore College IT Department to update and maintain various online and pdf application forms linked from the KC websiteUpdates Modern Campus side of the website for upcoming classes and student enrollmentCommunicates with assigned instructors regarding coursework progress, payments, details of onsite skills training, and eligibility to attend upcoming skills training and testing Oversees uniform orders and distributionCoordinates with fire departments, volunteer fire departments, and ESDs to schedule academies and/or training to meet their specific training needsManages coordination of online course finals and TCFP state skills testingCoordinator of Online Hybrid CoursesCoordinates the creation of courses through Course Creation forms, Jones and Bartlett curriculum learning management system (LMS), Blackboard LMS, Action Training Systems LMS, IFSTA LMS, TCFP, Modern Campus, J1- Jenzabar TPAs and Skills rostersMinimum Position Requirements:
An Associate degree or higher in office administration or related job experiences is preferredRequires five years of experience in related area.
One to three years supervisory experience.
Extensive knowledge of the functions and department processes of Kilgore College and the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, or comparable experience.
