The Maintenance Mechanic position requires experience and skill in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical areas associated with plastics injection molding equipment and general facility grounds and equipment.
Under direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance mechanic must provide support to production while following all safety procedures and policies.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Position requires experience and skill in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical areas, and general facility grounds and equipment.
Working knowledge of machine tool operations such as; drill press, hose crimper, volt meters, ampmeters, thermocouple calibration unit, micrometers, calipers, scales, levels, etc.
o Preferred experience with plastics injection molding equipment o Trouble shoot programmable controllerso Trouble shoot equipment with CNC pneumatics and hydraulic controlso Installs wiring, make adjustment to & calibrates machineso Removes, replaces and/or repairs machineryo Takes work orders out of maintenance system and completes in a timely mannero Completes or assist in parts requisitions in maintenance system with correct part numbers and vendorso Insures all safety and LOTO procedures are followed; must follow all safety procedures and requirements.
o Responsible for parts inventoryo Preventative maintenance on equipment and adheres to published standards.
Basic PM inspections and properly complete required paperwork.
o Ensure correct components are available to complete PM's per the PM Master schedule.
o Cope with unforeseen situations, i.
e.
, problems with process, machine speeds, reoccurring defects, detection/correction of unsafe conditions, and detection/correction of machinery problem issues.
o Perform machine rebuilds/modifications and fabrication of all types; also support all departments, i.
e.
, production, engineering, tool room, warehouse, and EHS.
o Maintain a clean, safe and orderly working area and be accountable for your designated area of 5's.
o Operate equipment to test its functioning and overall performance.
o Assist in all projects.
This would include all aspects of a new project, i.
e.
placement, installation, fabrication and assembly of all associated equipment that may come with any project.
This could also include working over and beyond a normal work day when needed.
o Operate hand tools and power tools, as needed for repairs and troubleshooting.
Read gauges and information on computer screens to diagnose equipment performance issues.
o Be alert to and welcome new learning opportunities.
Always try to increase education/training.
o Must follow all parts inventory guidelines.
This includes assisting to keep all parts storage areas in order.
o Must follow all procedures and take full ownership for maintenance PM/DM software and schedule.
This includes demanding WOR's for jobs worked on, completing and closing out of these WOR's (that do not include parts).
Must turn in all other WOR's that did require parts to tool crib attendant.
o Must follow all daily checklist guidelines and have a working knowledge of lubrication requirements as they pertain to equipment specifications.
o Follow GMP rules.
o Report oil, grease or water leaks to supervisor or technicians.
o Ensure line is clean and free from dust accumulation.
o Ensure leaks are properly collected.
o Identify production lots for traceability purposes.
o Fill out cleaning schedule.
o Report any conditions which could compromise food safety.
o Use only approved chemicals to be used on the floor.
o Do not put any item involved in product realization on the floor.
o Manage Critical Control Points where applicable.
o Report upset conditions.
o Enter data and provide paperwork required to maintain an efficient maintenance system.
o Minimize waste and prevent pollution to protect the environment.
o Perform duties in an efficient manner without damage to company equipment and furnishings.
o Constantly monitor & follow standard housekeeping procedures - Keep work area clean.
o Perform assignments according to standards-stay in assigned work area.
o Follow work instructions and provide/receive constructive feedback from others.
o Use spare time and clean up time constructively to keep tools and equipment in good condition.
o Promote teamwork with all other employees and departments.
o Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.

o High school diploma or GED certification perferred; however, three to five years' experience from on-the-job training programs and maintenance experience is required.
Some degree of understanding in the injection molding process along with all of its support equipment i.
e.
, AEC's, loaders, ohmites, chillers, conveyors, etc, and the use of tools and devises used to repair and maintain equipment and facilities.
o Must have knowledge of electrical and hydraulic principles.
Experience in troubleshooting, reading prints and the repair of all manufacturing machinery.
o Must have knowledge of mechanical principles, plus the knowledge to visualize arrangement and relationships between static or moving parts, and assemblies represented in blueprints and diagrams.
o Requires a working knowledge of machine tool operations such as:
drill press, hose crimper, etc.
o Must possess experience in the use of all types of fabricating equipment:
welders - arc, tig, oxygen/acetylene, plasma cutting, etc.
o Requires a working knowledge of test and measurement equipment, i.

The Maintenance Mechanic position requires experience and skill in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical areas associated with plastics injection molding equipment and general facility grounds and equipment.
Under direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance mechanic must provide support to production while following all safety procedures and policies.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Position requires experience and skill in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical areas, and general facility grounds and equipment.
Working knowledge of machine tool operations such as; drill press, hose crimper, volt meters, ampmeters, thermocouple calibration unit, micrometers, calipers, scales, levels, etc.
o Preferred experience with plastics injection molding equipment o Trouble shoot programmable controllerso Trouble shoot equipment with CNC pneumatics and hydraulic controlso Installs wiring, make adjustment to & calibrates machineso Removes, replaces and/or repairs machineryo Takes work orders out of maintenance system and completes in a timely mannero Completes or assist in parts requisitions in maintenance system with correct part numbers and vendorso Insures all safety and LOTO procedures are followed; must follow all safety procedures and requirements.
o Responsible for parts inventoryo Preventative maintenance on equipment and adheres to published standards.
Basic PM inspections and properly complete required paperwork.
